IMT Ghaziabad ties up with 3 top B-schools to pursue new programmes, student exchange & research

Broadening its international collaborations with top B-schools across the world, IMT Ghaziabad has tied up with three more top international B-schools to pursue new programmes, and widen student exchange programmes and research activities. 

The institute has collaborated with International Business School of Service Management (ISS), Hamburg, Germany; Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM), France; Copenhagen Business School (CBS), Denmark. IMT Ghaziabad Director Dr. Bibek Banerjee singed Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with all the three B-Schools on the sidelines of GBSN Conference in New Delhi on June 13.

IMT Ghaziabad was also the academic host of the 7th annual Global Business School Network (GBSN) Conference which was held in Asia for the first time on June 11-14.  

According to IMT, the collaboration with International Business School of Service Management (ISS), Hamburg, Germany, is aimed to offer a certificate on programme in Service Management. International Business School of Service Management (ISS) is a state approved, FIBAA accredited private business school and offers BA, MA and MBA programmes.  The B-School’s special focus is in the field of Service Management through application oriented and innovative teaching methods. ISS is known for its global approach to management. 

The collaboration also aims to promote cultural exchanges between students, researchers, coroprates and faculty. “The programme is planned in a way that students get to work as they learn, the advantage being that they can apply their learnings into their jobs straight away,” said Dr. Bibek Banerjee, adding, “There is a deep talent pool in India which requires exposure, we need to make avenues, channels, for people to reach out to the global market.” 
On the occasion, Michael Rene Weber, CEO, ISS International School of Service Management, said, “We need international managers and diversity in Germany, that is why a collaboration with IMT. We have similar practical issues, technology driven issues, and a strong mind of service and customer relationship.” 

A first for any B-School in India, the second MoU was with Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM), France for a joint programme called Doctor of Business Administration (DBA). Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM), France offers over 40 programmes both nationally and internationally. The B-School is known internationally for its Doctor of Business Administration courses. 
 
According to IMT, the three year DBA is structured such that students can combine careers and doctoral research. “There has been a recent growth in the Indian Industry wherein senior executives after actualizing their career goals, experience an inner motivation to generate education and teach the next generation,” said Dr. Banerjee, Director, IMT Ghaziabad.  “Grenoble has been running this programme for almost 20 years now. The idea of working around management tech was very interesting and that is why the collaboration between IMT and GEM,” said Dr. Benoit AUBURT, Associate Dean and Director of Doctoral Program, Grneoble Ecole de Management.

The institute signed a third MoU with Copenhagen Business School (CBS), Denmark, a traineeship B-School and one of the largest Management institutes in Europe. Established In 1917, Copenhagen Business School (CBS), Denmark is regulated by the Danish Universities Act. The B-school, currently, has 18,000 students including 600 full time researchers and an annual intake of 1,500 students. 

Dr. Banerjee, Director, IMT Ghaziabad said that the partnership with CBS would revolve around faculty and student exchange between the two schools as well as research co-operation. “Through our efforts we can pave the way for business relations between the two countries,” said Dorte Salskov-Iversen, Vice President, International Affairs, Copenhagen Business School.

IMT Ghaziabad has a wide range of collaborations with top B-schools in the Western and European countries as well as developing countries.  The international partner institutions of IMT include Deakin University, Australia; ICHEC Business Management School, Brussel; The COPPEAD Graduate School of Business, Brazil; University of Saskatchewan, Canada; Universite Paris Dauphine, France; ESC Rennes School of Business, France; Leipzig Graduate School of Management (HHL), Germany; Universidad de Monterrey , Mexico ; Skarbek Graduate School of Business Economics, Poland; University of Sevilla, Spain; Nottingham Trent University, Nottingham ; George Mason University, Virginia, USA; and University of Florida, Gainesville, USA amongst others.

GDA, builders unite to decongest Raj Nagar Extension

GHAZIABAD: Builders in  Raj Nagar Extension  and the Ghaziabad Development Authority  (GDA) have joined hands to put an end to congestion woes in the area. The move would give a breather to the people commuting through the area and builders believe that this will entice more people into buying a property in the area. "To execute the proposed traffic decongestion plan for NH 58 and other roads in Ghaziabad,  GDA  has decided to complete these works in association with Raj Nagar Extension Developers Association," said Gaurav Gupta, spokesperson of the Association. Mr Gupta added, "The authorities propose to restructure of the NH-58 stretch - from Meerut-crossing (near new bus stand) to ALT-cut."  The builder and GDA team will undertake maintenance of the road and close down illegal cuts on the road (used for taking U-tunr) which have been the main reason behind the mess. Noida residents have complained of a significantly reduced supply of water. In sectors such as 10, 11, 12, 15, 27, 31, 32, 33, 34, 37, 56 and 71, the problem of reduced hours of supply has emerged over the past ten days.
