खोड़ा कॉलोनी के वंदना एन्क्लेव में रविवार रात को दंपती संदिग्ध हालात में झुलस गए। महिला की हालत नाजुक बनी हुई है। पुलिस का कहना है कि पति ने किचन मंे खाना बनाते समय आग लगने की बात कही है लेकिन महिला का बयान काफी अहम है। दोनों की शादी एक साल पहले हुई थी। जानकारी के मुताबिक, वंदना एन्क्लेव में सोनू कुमार अपनी पत्नी पिंकी के साथ रहता है। रविवार रात को पिंकी किचन में खाना बना रही थी, तभी वह आग की चपेट में आ गई। उसकी चीख सुनकर दूसरे कमरे में बैठा सोनू भी दौड़ा। इस बीच बचाव में दोनों बुरी तरह झुलस गए। सोनू ने किसी तरह पड़ोसी को हादसे की जानकारी दी, जिसके बाद लोगों ने उन्हें दिल्ली के राम मनोहर लोहिया अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया। घटना की जानकारी बाद मंे पुलिस को मिली। इंदिरापुरम थाना प्रभारी घनश्याम सिंह ने बताया कि पिंकी 90 प्रतिशत तक झुलसी है जबकि सोनू 20 प्रतिशत झुलसा है। इस संबंध में सोनू से पूछताछ की गई है। 

वैशाली सेक्टर-1 से दिल्ली सीमा को जोड़ने वाली सड़क के दोनो तरफ बिल्डिंग मटीरियल बिखरा पड़ा है। इसके चलते यहां से गुजरने वाले वाहन चालकों को काफी परेशानी का सामना करना पड़ रहा है।  स्थानीय लोगों का कहना है कि पहले ही इस सड़क पर पुलिया की चौड़ाई कम होने से जाम की समस्या बनी रहती है। अब सड़क पर फैले मटीरियल की वजह से वाहन चालकों की परेशानी और बढ़ गई है। गौरव सिंह का कहना है कि यह सड़क दिल्ली के गाजीपुर सीमा को जोड़ती है जिससे यहां वाहनों का दबाव ज्यादा रहता है। ऐसे में दुर्घटना की आशंका बनी रहती है। नगर निगम केजेई आर. सी. मोंगा का कहना है कि जल्द ही उन बिल्डिंग निर्माताआंे को सड़क पर से मटीरियल हटाने केलिए नोटिस जारी कर दिए जाएंगे। अगर फिर भी यह नहीं हटे तो इनका चालान काट कर इन्हें दंडित किया जाएगा।

In keeping with the trend of a higher voter turnout noticed in Uttar Pradesh so far, the fourth phase of assembly polls in the state recorded over 57% polling on Sunday. The first, second and third phases had earlier registered voting percentages of 63, 59 and 57.2, respectively. The voter turnout in 2007 was a mere 46%. As many as 56 assembly segments spread across 11 districts, including parts of Bundelkhand and the Gandhi family strongholds of Chhatrapati Sahuji Maharaj Nagar and Rae Bareli, had come up for polling during this round. The day was incident-free. Voting took place in the districts of Hardoi, Unnao, Lucknow, Farukkhabad, Kannauj, Banda, Chitrakoot, Fatehpur and Pratapgarh, besides Rae Bareli and parts of Chhatrapati Sahuji Maharaj Nagar. Ghaziabad, Feb 19 (PTI) Four minors, including the son of an army officer, were held for their alleged involvement in about 20 chain snatching cases, police said here today. "The four were held soon after they snatched a chain of a woman in Kavi Nagar area and were making an effort to escape on two motorcycles," SHO Kavi Nagar Avneesh Gautam said. The four are Class XI students of reputed public schools. "One is the son of an army officer, while another's father is a senior government official and two belong to business families," Gautam said. They were later sent to juvenile remand home in Meerut, he said.
