State govt appoints consultant for 4-lane road in Ghaziabad


LUCKNOW: The state government on Wednesday appointed Feedback Infrastructureand Services Private Limited as consultants for developing the access-controlled, green-field, Northern Peripheral Road in Ghaziabad.
The proposed 20 km four-lane stretch, extendable to six lanes, will be developed through the public private partnership (PPP) model. The government has also designatedGhaziabad Development Authority (GDA) as the nodal agency for implementing the project at an estimated cost of Rs 440 crore.
Ghaziabad town planner SC Gaur said a period of 34 weeks has been fixed for the selection of the concessionaire for the project.
Feedback Infrastructure has been asked to expedite the studies that are to be conducted on the project, its technical feasibility and financial viability.
In addition, the consultant will also have to ensure that the entire bid process management system conforms to public private partnership (PPP) guidelines and other state government rules.
GDA vice-chairman Santosh Yadav said the Northern Peripheral Road in Ghaziabad will start from SH-57 (Saharanpur Road) in Loni Area and terminate at Dasna on NH-24 (Lucknow Road) bisecting NH-58 (Meerut Road).
Scope of work of consultant will comprise multiple tasks, starting from exploring the alignment, assessment of requirement of bridges, railway over-bridges, feasibility model, getting necessary clearances from the environment ministry, Government of India as well as management of entire bidding process for selection of developer.
Feedback was appointment consultant from among five other bidders -- RITES Ltd, Gurgaon; Feedback Infrastructure & Services (P) Ltd, New Delhi; Holtech Consulting Pvt Ltd, Gurgaon; Casta Engineers & Consultants Pvt Ltd, New Delhi and Uniborn India Pvt Ltd, Gurgaon.

GDA, builders unite to decongest Raj Nagar Extension

GHAZIABAD: Builders in  Raj Nagar Extension  and the Ghaziabad Development Authority  (GDA) have joined hands to put an end to congestion woes in the area. The move would give a breather to the people commuting through the area and builders believe that this will entice more people into buying a property in the area. "To execute the proposed traffic decongestion plan for NH 58 and other roads in Ghaziabad,  GDA  has decided to complete these works in association with Raj Nagar Extension Developers Association," said Gaurav Gupta, spokesperson of the Association.
