Now, scrapped FNG corridor to just link Noida and Ghaziabad

NOIDA: Amid reports of Haryana government scrapping the Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad (FNG) corridor project, the Noida Authority has maintained that, since the project is a part of its Master Plan 2021, the work between Noida and Ghaziabad will be completed for sure. The Authority claims it has already completed 50% of its share of the project.
The project was floated in 1993 to connect Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad but was scrapped by the Haryana government in 1998 because it found it "unfeasible." As per the initial plan, the corridor was to be 56km long and was to connect NH-24 near Ghaziabad and NH-2 (Delhi-Agra). Around 16km of the corridor falls under the jurisdiction of Noida Authority and work on 8km linking Noida and Ghaziabad is complete.

Fee hike: Strike called, 128 private schools in Ghaziabad shut today

Independent Schools’ Federation of India is observing a ‘token strike’ on Thursday against the district administration’s order to set up the committee to scrutinise their accounts. The committee is to look into the schools’ accounts and investigate other complaints forwarded by parents and associations. An association of private schools in Ghaziabad has decided to shut nearly 128 schools on Thursday as a mark of protest against the district administration’s decision to set up a committee to inquire into allegations of the unjustified fee hike. The committee comprises the additional district magistrate (finance), district inspector of schools and the basic education officer. The president of the Independent Schools’ Federation of India (ISFI) on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to the district officials and said that 128 private schools will observe a ‘token strike’ on Thursday against the district administration’s order to set up the committee. The committee is to look in...

Here! It became, was the gift Arthla Metro, Gzb.

Electricity poles with high tension wires in a pool of sewer water sounds dangerous; but this is a reality. This green belt is located on a 25-meter-wide road between National Highway-24 and Nyay Khand-I. The sewage water from Khoda village and high rise buildings, which are located nearby, gets accumulated in this green belt as the new drain, which was developed by the Ghaziabad Development Authority for disposing sewage water, is broken at many places. "The authorities are not doing anything to ease the situation. Once on complaining about the issue to the GDA, we were assured that water would be pumped out from the belt. But it didn't help as when they tried to pump out the water, it accumulated again and again. The electricity, which passes through these poles, is of 33000 volts. A major mishap can occur any time. Authorities should think and act as soon as possible," said Sudhir Mishra, president, Indirapuram Purvanchal Samiti.  Some residents also suggest that if a...
